3 Trends We’ve Spotted So Far at Copenhagen Fashion Week

It’s all about comfort and colour so far at Copenhagen Fashion Week …

It’s only day three of Copenhagen Fashion Week and there’s a lot to like already. Taking place each February and again in August, the Danish fashion celebration is often the most favoured moment in the yearly fashion calendar. Largely due to the amazing street style, the list of coveted brands on the roster as well as the laid back vibe, which is noticeable when compared to other fashion weeks, such as New York and Paris. Overall, the rule of thumb is it’s less about fanfare, more about great clothes.

The autumn winter 2022 shows so far have certainly come through on the clothing front. From dopamine-inducing colourways at Stine Goya, pictured above, to louche tailoring and tactile pieces at By Malene Birger as well as the uplifting and interesting model choices at Saks Potts and Soulland. We’ve zoomed in on three trends we’ve spotted so far, below, so you can swat up on all things Danish fashion.

NEON GREEN

Eye-wateringly good, neon green was a firm favourite at yesterday’s Saks Potts show (as seen above on ultimate model/cool girl Erin Wasson). We’ve noticed this trend is also big for spring summer 2022, so it’s good to see it will have longevity into autumn.

focus on the scarf

Trust the Danes to favour fashion and function: this has been the case at the shows so far where scarves have been a centrepiece of outfits, rather than an afterthought. XL scarves trailed down to models’ ankles at Skall Studio, while at Baum und Pferdgarden scarves made from down were tied as dramatic neckerchiefs. Cosy.

tonal suiting

Mannish tailoring takes on a new dimension as the trend now is to go head-to-toe in the one shade. This was the look at Lovechild 1979, where suiting, from somber cream to electric blue, was styled with a one-colour-fits-all attitude. The footwear choice? Preppy penny loafers were worn throughout.
