These Kitchen Trends Are All About Good Design

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PANELLING CENTRE

Luxury appliance technology and design are the hallmarks of the In-House Appliance Centre at The Panelling Centre …

They say the kitchen is the heart of the home and as one of the most used spaces in any house, ensuring that it strikes the right balance of style and functionality is key. When planning a kitchen makeover, many of us will think about the style of cabinets and the finishes we want but appliances can be an afterthought.

According to In-House Appliance Centre Expert, Geraldine O’Donoghue, integrated and efficient appliances should be at the top of any kitchen wish list.

“Anyone who is looking to purchase a luxury kitchen appliance is usually looking for next-level functionality, as well as a beautifully designed product that completes their kitchen space,” says Geraldine O’Donoghue, from the In-House Appliance Centre in The Panelling Centre showroom in Deansgrange. When it comes to kitchens, she believes the quality of appliances are just as important as the look of the kitchen and tailors her advice to her customers depending on their cooking habits, style preferences and kitchen layout.

If you’re thinking of investing in or upgrading your appliances, you need to make sure you’re equipped with expert knowledge and tips before choosing the right equipment for your needs.

One of Ireland’s best-known appliance experts, Geraldine, reveals all the best kept secrets when considering an upgrade. Whether it’s a flush induction hob from V-ZUG, the latest minimalistic ceiling hood from Falmec, a filtered Quooker tap or any appliance large or small, Geraldine is on hand to provide honest advice to help you find the perfect appliance.

When asked about the latest oven technology, Geraldine says she is most impressed by the V-ZUG range, and the V-ZUG precision-built combi-steam oven in particular. The oven uses the power of steam to create gourmet meals, with user-friendly functions including the soft roast setting for the most tender Sunday roast, and the baking programme for the perfectly baked loaf.

Swiss-built V-ZUG appliances are effortless to clean, thanks to features such as pyrolysis, which safely turns all grease and grime to ash and requires a simple wipe-down after use. V-ZUG combi-steamers boast an elegant black glass finish and fit seamlessly into any kitchen.

When it comes to energy-efficient dishwashers, Geraldine recommends the Miele range: “Miele offers some of the most energy-efficient options on the market. They only use fresh mains water which has reduced water consumption by 85% over the past 30 years. Their ECO-programmes also considerably reduce energy consumption which is something many of our customers are enquiring about.”

Another innovative appliance attracting a lot of interest is the V-ZUG RefreshButler, a Swiss manufactured piece of technology which refreshes and sanitises even the most delicate clothes without using detergents. The RefreshButler dries and refreshes clothes using steam, removing 99.99% of all bacteria and germs, while the refresh, crease guard, drying and hygiene programmes care for valuable clothes as gently as possible. “This is a brilliant piece of equipment,” Geraldine says. “It also looks fantastic, either as a free-standing appliance or integrated into a cupboard.”

According to Geraldine, the latest trends that are here to stay are appliances that reduce your environmental impact; black and neutral colour schemes; and appliances that integrate perfectly into the home. “Sustainability is top of mind for a lot of our customers, who come to us in search of appliances that not only perform well and look good but are also energy efficient,” says Geraldine. “Another factor is how well an appliance seamlessly integrates into your existing space – built-in hobs that sit flush against your countertop are also very popular. In terms of colourways, black and neutral colour schemes are in – neutral countertops with black accents and appliances not only look spectacular but is a style that will remain timeless.”
