An Exclusive First Look At The New Renovation Of The Manor, Mount Juliet Estate

Inside the stunning new suites …

Mount Juliet has always been a byword for elegance and elevated experiences; that looks set to be surpassed further following a €8m investment and meticulous restoration of its 31 guest rooms. At the helm of this project was interior designer Aisling Healy of O’Donnell O’Neill who approached the house as a personality.

She and her team envisioned The Manor at Mount Juliet Estate as an elegant host, someone who enjoys welcoming friends, filling rooms with warmth, conversation and celebration. In reality, this approach was translated as a layered interior design scheme were texture, fabric and colour all played integral parts.

Staying true to The Manor’s Georgian roots, restoring original fixtures and architectural details was the starting point before selecting period-appropriate furnishings and finishes. Where possible, the team worked with Irish suppliers and artisans.

Each suite within The Manor has been named to reflect the estate’s heritage and the people who shaped its legacy, and cost from €700 for an overnight stay and breakfast. They include the Hartpole Suite which honours Margaret Hartpole, the last mistress of Grace’s Old Castle in Kilkenny, or the Desart Suite named in honour of Lady Julianna Butler, the first lady of Mount Juliet Estate. The suite carries her title as a tribute to the enduring mark she left on this historic place.

The Manor has always been the perfect country retreat, offering a range of activities – from a state-of-the-art equestrian centre to a round of golf on the award-winning Jack Nicklaus designed championship golf course. Its Michelin starred Lady Helen restaurant is without doubt one of the best in Ireland, while its wellness and spa facilities (with Ground treatments) are a further incentive to visit. At this time of year when the garden is in bloom, there are 500 acres of parkland to explore too. @mountjulietestate
