The Best Beauty Of 2025

In our best of 2025 list, Irish beauty stands out …

We all love Hildun’s excellent kajal eyeliners; a new gift set features milk chocolate, copper and aubergine shades, €40. Sculpted by Aimee’s new cushion foundation is great, too. And we’re excited to trial the first product from facialist Agnes Gajewska – a peptide serum, coming soon.

Beyond home runs, 2025 was a year of light, easy to wear skin tints (try Lisa Eldridge’s, and Clarins’ Double Serum Foundation), stick blushers (Charlotte Tilbury) and a general passion for burgundy (yes, even eyeliner). I’ve been using Trinny London’s Miracle Halo in Candlelight since it launched, for instant skin gleam.

This year, we wore brown mascara (Hourglass’ Confession is the best), and soft lip colours by VIOLETTE _FR (available online).

I personally got hooked on LAST skincare (at Floraison), the velvety Magistrale night cream by French brand Codage (available at Velvaere Spa in Dublin) and Emma Lewisham’s excellent SPFs.

On the fragrance front, we got braver with oud (try Creed’s beguiling Oud Zarian, at Brown Thomas). Phlur gave us fun and affordable fragrances, while Jo Malone London’s Raspberry Ripple caught the imagination with a taste for nostalgia.

We shopped online at www.luia.eu, www.skinshop.ie (for Korean beauty) and Dr Laura Lenihan’s phare.store – all great edits. Merit Beauty arrived online for Irish shoppers at last, and Sephora landed in Belfast.

Louis Vuitton launched into make-up with some suede-like embossed lip colours. We’re intrigued by the new Dua Lipa collab with skincare king Augustinus Bader, making his formulas more accessible. On the luxury beauty front, Victoria Beckham dominated, with artistic make-up brushes and a €100+ foundation that everyone is talking about – add it to the wishlist. @sarahhalliwellbeauty

TRIED & TESTED: OMOROVICZA AT POWERSCOURT RESORT

Luxury Hungarian spa brand Omorovicza has landed exclusively at Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa, Co Wicklow. Standout treatments (from €160) include the Blue Diamond facial (€235) and the two-hour Moor Mud Ritual (€265), an incredibly deluxe experience involving full-body exfoliation, being packaged up in warming, mineral-rich mud from Budapest, and massage with oils. It leaves your skin the softest it’s ever been: no wonder it’s a big favourite with brides, as the perfect prep for tan. Don’t miss the Spa’s Himalayan Salt Suite for meditative detoxing, and relaxation room overlooking the Sugar Loaf. If you can stretch to an overnight stay, even better – it’s incredibly peaceful and grand.
