From Khaite and Parosh, all the way through to Toteme and Prada, fashion’s love of leopard print inflates this season. What’s new? Not a lot: the perennial print remains unwavering in its appeal. While the focus this season is on accessories – think: logo cross-body bags, boat shoes and square-toe ankle boots – the biggest way, of course, to make a statement is with a hero coat (there are delectable styles at Rixo and Nili Lotan right now). While, at By Malene Birger, curved shoulders, large collars and ankle lengths are the look of the moment on outerwear. Styling-wise, we’re inspired by Khaite’s resort 26 collection which goes heavy on animal prints of all kinds, in a mercurial kind of clash. Do as creative director Catherine Holstein does and team a leopard coat with a punchy zebra bag (another key buy of the season) for a maximal approach to patterns.
