Bag these cool eveningwear classics now…
We popped into the M&S Christmas party yesterday and spotted so many gorgeous classic pieces: a velvet suit, a pleated silver skirt, a sparkly top and trousers and a cosy scarlet Christmas sweater all caught our eye. Even if you think it’s way too early to feel festive, we say bag these pieces soon before they disappear from the rails. They’ll work for work events, smart weekend lunches and the getting-earlier-than-ever annual get-togethers, as we head into November.

Top tip this year? Don’t shy away from metallics! We caught up with stylist Corina Gaffey who shared her key pieces for the season. “The silver leather trousers are going to be the sellout piece of the year – people are already trying to get their hands on them. I would style them with a nice textured knit and an oversized biker jacket and the silver Mary Janes that are in-store now.”
There are so many fabulous metallic, shine and sequin pieces throughout the collection to weave into your wardrobe, but you’ll also find M&S classics like maxi coats (the longer the better this season), knee-high leather boots and great knitwear. Be brave when it comes to outerwear – Corina loves the black faux leather trench from the Autograph collection. Pair it with luxe loafers and straight-leg denims for a look that nails high-low dressing.
