Utter the words summer dressing and a woven bag is never too far from our thoughts. A stalwart in the fashion world, woven carry-alls, once lauded for their practicality and size, are now a byword for a laissez-faire kind of look, not least one that suggests you picked up your basket while holidaying on Île de Ré.

Over the last few seasons, we’ve seen the definition expand from classic raffia to dressy woven leather styles – influenced, of course, by Bottega Veneta’s hold on fashion and buzzy brands like Dragon Diffusion – which have a polish that leans more city than beach.
