This Is The Most Wanted Skin Tool This Winter

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SKINKRUSH®

Here’s all you need to know about the latest at-home LED face masks

The most wanted gift gadget this Christmas? LED face masks are always up there. We’ve all seen pictures of celebs relaxing in their dressing gowns, glowing red face mask in place, and read how effective red and infrared light therapy can be for our skin – it helps to stimulate collagen production, soften the appearance of fine lines, and rejuvenate the skin. So what could be better than bringing this skin-boosting technology into the comfort of your own home.

The newest masks on the block are the two Skin Krush LED Face Masks, one for rejuvenating the skin and the other to help problem prone skin. The masks are designed to suit different skin concerns and to fit into your daily life with ease. Through their work at Renew Skin Clinic, established in 2006, Jeanette Dunne and Sinead Gallagher, who are both nurses, fully understand the power of LED light therapy. Finding that in-salon treatments can be costly and time-consuming, and wanting to make this technology available to a wider audience, the team designed a version that was quick and easy to use at home, yet still offering visible results.

“What makes our product unique is that it’s designed by two aesthetic nurses with over 20 years’ experience in the aesthetic and skincare industry, spanning three award-winning clinics.”

CHOOSE YOUR LED FACE MASK

Skin Krush offer two types of LED face mask, so there’s one to suit you, whatever your skin type. When designing the masks, comfort and performance were key ensuring it was a comfortable fit and if needed could be used while doing daily activities or sitting relaxing in bed, but also offering dual treatment so you not only get one light therapy option but dual light treatment from each mask. The LED face mask can also, notes Gallagher, help to prolong the results of your clinic and salon treatments.

Skin Krush® Rejuvenating LED Face Mask suits all skin types. “This features both red (633nm wavelength) and infrared (830nm wavelength) light to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production, reduces inflammation and redness in the skin, revealing a clearer complexion in as little as ten minutes per day.”

Skin Krush® Clear & Calming LED Face Mask will suit you if your skin is prone to mild acne or redness and inflammation associated with this skin condition. This innovative mask can help to calm inflammation and leave your skin clearer and more balanced. It features both blue (415nm wavelength) and red (633nm wavelength) light. “Blue LED, which has antibacterial effects, and red LED light together are a fantastic combination for people who are prone to breakouts and need to reduce redness in the skin,” says Dunne. She adds that it’s a good option that can work alongside other acne treatments once your dermatologist is on board.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR BEST RESULTS

The key to LED light therapy is regular, consistent use. As Gallagher explains: “Using LED light therapy once a week for six weeks isn’t going to deliver the results, you’re after. We recommend using an LED mask for ten minutes a day, three to five times a week for a period of six weeks to achieve a noticeable improvement.”

Sounds like a big commitment. It isn’t with Skin Krush masks, as these are portable, ten-minute treatment tools. “An LED mask, ideally, should be used during a time of relaxation without anyone disturbing you, but we all know that’s not always practical,” says Gallagher. “We personally road-tested all the LED masks on the market and found some were more comfortable than others. So, we designed a strap to go over the top of the mask to comfortably secure it in place. You can loosen and tighten it as needed, but that additional strap allows you to wear your mask while walking around the house and doing other things – you can make a cup of tea, you can do yoga, without it slipping.”

THE BENEFITS

Easy to clean, with an inbuilt ten-minute smart timer and rechargeable battery, the lightweight and portable LED face masks are not just ideal homecare skincare tools, but also perfect for taking with you when you travel. And they suit all skin types. “The LED masks are targeted at all skin types, with a benefit for everyone – it works really well on people who suffer from rosacea or acne, as well as those who want to soften fine lines and wrinkles and to improve collagen production.”

AND THERE’S MORE …

Another handy gift idea this Christmas? The previous at-home skincare device from Gallagher and Dunne: they launched the Skin Krush microdermabrasion kit in 2021 targeted more towards people who have oily, congested skin, for pro-level exfoliation.
