We all remember the good ones. There have been some stunning beauty collaborations with fashion designers in the past. At one time, MAC worked with all kinds of creative and interesting figures, from Iris Apfel to Philip Treacy, resulting in some seriously collectable one-off palettes and lipsticks. Another favourite that stands out – in 2018, Nars did a beautiful make-up collection, Strange Flowers, together with London designer Erdem, featuring exquisite matte-grey palettes patterned with exotic floral decorations. The products and shades were original and alluring, with some lip powders in rich floral shades.

Now comes a limited-edition Merit x Erdem collection, made up of three sets that feature exclusive new shades along with returning favourites. Expect soft, romantic and ultra-feminine shades. This is the US brand’s first-ever bespoke packaging created with a fashion designer. Looks like Merit are the new ones to watch when it comes to collaborations with clout and creativity …

“This collaboration felt like a natural meeting of two worlds,” says Erdem Moralioglu, founder and creative director of Erdem. “It was an opportunity to translate the spirit of Erdem into something people can live with every day – objects that feel considered, lasting, and quietly beautiful.”

The Winter Set, €75, is an eye and cheek wardrobe featuring Day Glow in new Tulle shade, Mini Flush Balm in new Carnation, Solo Shadow Sheen in limited-edition Mink, and Clean Volume Mascara (€29 when bought separately). This is the mascara I’m using all the time at the moment – I find it really combs and lengthens lashes, and it’s a tubing formula so washes off easily too.

The Signature Lip Trio, €64, features three Signature Lip formulas curated by Erdem, including three limited-edition shades, Black Tie, London and Bespoke.
