This Autumn Alternative To Blue Jeans Is Already Favoured By The Fashion Crowd

These red trousers from COS, Mango and Le Bon Shoppe are the perfect alternative to blue jeans …

As much as we’re betrothed to classic blue jeans we’re always on the lookout for a good alternative. All summer long we’ve seen stylish dressers sporting lightweight red trousers with statement pockets and distinctive cropped lengths. Surely, it’s a summer fling? Apparently not. The trend is holding strong for autumn. Albeit, the fabrications are more appropriate. Think: cotton-canvas trousers with elasticated waists (ideal for the school run or for a dash to the shop), barrel-leg jeans and even cropped bootcut styles, all in zinging shades of red

On the high street, they’re being styled with heather grey T-shirts or button down cardigans, but we like the idea of them teamed with a raglan style, long-sleeved T-shirt for a transeasonal look with a difference. As well as being striking, these trousers have a pull-on-and-go quality that appeals. According to New York brand Alex Mill, it’s personified as a “just running errands but if I happen to run into four people I know at the grocery store, I wouldn’t be mad about it” energy. We approve.

Dissh’s barrel-leg cotton pants are a perennial favourite on our feeds.
