Alexa Chung Just Wore The Autumn Trainer Trend We're Coveting

We often wax lyrical about Alexa Chung (naturally) and the ways in which she spins the latest trainer trends, whether it’s teaming Balenciaga’s Hamptons sneakers with a lace midi-skirt, wearing Loewe’s viral leather-trim trainers or her days collaborating with makers of classic tennis shoes Superga. Recently, Chung was spotted working one of autumn’s biggest trends: slim-fit trainers. The brand in question? Spanish sneaker label Hoff. Chung was recently unveiled as the face of Hoff’s latest campaign, and for the launch of its Madrid flagship store the It girl wore a pinstriped navy suit teamed with a pair of Hoff’s Bridge trainers.

Available in a colour-pop shade of aubergine, with a slim fit and gum soles, the Bridge trainers have a decidedly retro leaning – something which, unsurprisingly, is excellently in tune with Chung’s personal style. The thin sole is also popular for AW25, a relaxed take on the thicker styles which have pervaded over the last few seasons (which happen to induce a Marmite-esque reaction in shoppers) and a more wearable version of the hybrid sneakerinas which had a moment in spring. When it comes to colours, we can’t decide which we like more: Chung’s 70s-informed colour splash or the rich shades of toffee brown which dominate the fashion zeitgeist for autumn.
