Shop the best stirrup leggings from Marks & Spencer, Skims, Reformation and H&M …
If you refuse to wear leggings outdoors (the obvious exception here is athleisure) then you might be swayed by the spring leggings trend that is coming to the fore. Stirrup leggings are a 1990s classic that resurface every few years, depending on the trend cycle. Most recently, the success of brands such as Skims and, closer to home, 4th Arq (the brand’s Rowe leggings are a favourite) have seen leggings get an increasing amount of airtime. And thanks to SS26’s obsession with lady-of-leisure staples (think: a move-on from quiet luxury that involves a lot of draping and loose, louche fabrics) we’re seeing stirrup leggings act as the hero piece in considered and polished outfits. Think less gym wear, more off-duty fashion with zing.
How to wear them now? Our favourite way to embrace the stirrup leggings trend is quite simple. Team them with a pair of black ballet flats and an oversized cashmere funnel neck jumper (look to COS for great options here). If you’re seeking something with a little more edge, trade the ballet flats for a pair of mannish loafers or trending slippers. Finish with a (long) coat that stretches towards your calves for an expensive look. Shop an edit of the best stirrup leggings for spring below.
