This romantic, year-round wedding venue is very special
If you are dreaming of a magical country castle wedding, there is one venue that provides all the elements for a beautiful and memorable occasion. At gorgeous 18th-century Castle Durrow in Co Laois, your wedding ceremony can be conducted inside or outdoors, while dinner for up to 200 guests can be served in the spectacular banqueting room, followed by drinks and dancing. Before the wedding, drinks are served on the south-facing lawn or in the main house.
At Castle Durrow, there are 50 acres of picturesque garden, perfect for wedding photos. You can also extend your wedding to a two-day celebration, with a relaxed barbecue the following day. Castle Durrow can also serve a gorgeous pre-wedding dinner on the eve of the wedding. A wedding at Castle Durrow can be large or small, and will be as wonderful in winter and autumn as it is in spring and summer. A midweek wedding is also possible.
On your wedding day, greet your guests with bubbles and canapes, before an exquisite meal, specially designed for you and your guests, with many of the ingredients supplied from the Castle’s own organic kitchen garden. Two hundred guests can be seated in the banqueting room with its spectacular chandeliers, hand-painted silk panels and large mirrors, and up to 60 guests in the main Castle dining room. In the banqueting room, French doors let in the sunlight and open up to a wide terrace overlooking the lush, flower-filled walled garden and the rolling hills of the lovely Laois countryside.
After dinner and dancing, relax in luxury in the stunning Lord Ashbrook suite and greet your friends the morning after your wedding day in the beautiful dining rooms for a delicious breakfast. Beautifully decorated guest bedrooms are all ensuite, with views over the grounds.
