While we’ve been waxing lyrical about commuter fashion, Margot Robbie has raised the bar with an airport outfit that nods to the most viral catwalk moment of the last six months. Still riding the Wuthering Heights promotional train (which has birthed a lot of Margot Robbie style moments), the actress was photographed at Sydney airport in a look that may be familiar: it references the highly re-shared low-slung jeans outfit that opened Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2026 show. The Chanel show was inspired by the “everywoman” spotted each day on the subway by creative director Matthieu Blazy, so it seems like kismet that Robbie might debut this outfit in one of the most trying sartorial situations possible (though we remain unsure as to whether a pair of round-toe heels will be our go-to next time we congregate at the luggage carousel).

In addition to a fold-over leather burgundy bag and leather belt, both from the Chanel spring 2026 collection, Robbie’s denims nods to the current trend for low-slung jeans that sit on your hips and have a fit that’s boyish but not too oversized. The slouch gives an instant edge to any look, while Robbie’s stylist has a solution for the issue of trailing hems (as popularised by the puddle jeans trend), by embracing a turn-up and offsetting them with a pair of round-toe heels. It’s an outfit that, on paper, should feel quite 2000s, but perhaps it’s the white T-shirt, fresh hair and barely there make-up that makes it less about nostalgia, more about an effortlessness that’s always got cachet.
