When it comes to blouses the look for the season is pretty distinctive. Naturally, the style scene has taken its cue from the Chloé AW24 show, which was an out and out dedication to the bohemian dresser (and a defiant rejection of greige quiet minimalism). Boho blouse are cropping up everywhere, from high street stores to mid-range labels and high-end designers. What are you looking for? Think: sheer or semi sheer blouses in opulent fabrics (that’s silk-chiffon as opposed to summery cottons) and with flared sleeves, as well as ruffles on the chest or arms.
When it comes to styling the season’s boho blouse, the idea really is to commit. If you’re tempted to resuscitate a pair of bootcut jeans lingering at the back of your wardrobe – the ones you wore during the Y2K boho explosion – I would say to proceed with caution: the look hinges on unfussy, modern denim with clean lines, so if your pre-loved pair boasts OTT detailing such as a lot of bright stitching or too many distracting pockets, I would steer clear. If you don’t have the right pair of bootcut jeans, straight leg or wide leg styles will look contemporary. As for accessories, have fun with textures: chocolate brown suede bags, studding on clogs (note the low heel for wearability) and polished gold hardware will complete the look.
