No sun – no worries …
Tan drops or a bronzing serum are the most subtle way to go for an enhanced glow and radiance, rather than a flat brown mask.
We’re aspiring to Gucci Westman’s Sun Tone Bronzing Drops (€62). By Terry is one of the original great beauty brands, founded by Terry de Gunzberg, and the Tea to Tan Golden Glow (€49) delivers a hydrating golden glow that looks madly expensive, like you’ve spent a week in the Maldives. We’re also using Irish B Corp company Skin Formulas’ Hydra Bronze (€47), a tanning serum with hyaluronic acid (buy as a kit, complete with kabuki brush and washbag, for €49).
For a more immediate hit of sunshine, influential brand Rhode has just launched a range of bronzers. Pocket Bronze (€33) comes in eight shades. These are designed to be long-lasting and deliver glowy texture as well as a colour boost. These are part of the continuing trend for stick format make-up, as we increasingly rely on foolproof, on-the-go items to throw in our bags.
Charlotte Tilbury has been embracing the stick format for some time – her Foundation Stick was adored, though more as a highlighter than a foundation. The newly launched Unreal Highlighter Fresh, Healthy Glow Stick (€42) puts the focus firmly on glow and highlighting, with ease. There are also new mini versions (€20) of her Unreal Blush sticks, at half the price of the full-sizes.
If you’re firmly wedded to a bronzing powder, though, we recommend Gucci Westman’s buttery, silky Beauty Butter Powder Bronzer (€80) – Westman makes everything look and feel so very beautiful, and is a maestro when it comes to naturally radiant skin. I know someone who actually cried when she lost her bronzing compact, and we don’t blame her. Also, Clarins’ summer limited-edition Bronzing Compact (€45), in its ice-blue case, is a lovely option.
