Could This be The Best Place to Shop (and Dine) Right Now?

Outdoor Dining, Beauty and Fashion, even a Crowd Checker … Dundrum Town Centre is open, outdoor-focused and ready to welcome you …

As myriad options for summertime outdoor dining emerge this month, we are thinking about the destinations that combine more than a handful of places to eat out, as well as great retail and fashion. Top of our list is Dundrum Town Centre … we have really missed the mix of browsing, shopping and lunch, or dinner, as evenings get longer and warmer, that you cannot experience elsewhere. And since Dundrum Town Centre is open from 9am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 7pm on Saturday, and 10am-7pm on Sunday, there is plenty of time to plan a leisurely visit.

The big news is, outdoor dining is officially back at Dundrum Town Centre, with lots of new developments in place to support a fully fuelled safe and fun day out this summer. With options in place from breakfast to brunch, lunch to tea-and-cake, to cocktails and dinner, you could actually stay all day.

The Pembroke District is home to a number of family -friendly restaurants with fresh-air terraces. Spots with outdoor spaces include Jamie’s Italian, Mad Egg, Zizzi’s and The Counter. If you prefer to pick up and picnic, grab a coffee and a treat from Hotel Chocolat, Off Beat Donuts or Butler’s Café and enjoy in the wide open outdoor seating areas, or in one of the cosy heated dining pods on Town Square and Pembroke Square.

The Port House Ibericos has a beautiful heated outdoor garden – the perfect backdrop to an evening of Spanish tapas with friends. If you prefer a vantage point for people-watching, Harvey’s Restaurant and Bar has outdoor space overlooking Pembroke Square, ideal for dinner or a cocktail, while Dunne & Crescenzi and Milano offer a twinkling view of the Mill Pond.

It has been so long since we have been able to have a sit-down and refresher post-shopping spree, so why not make a day of it? Dundrum Town Centre’s fashion game is as strong as ever. New summer lines are arriving each week to each of our favourite stores: from Harvey Nichols, to BT2, from Mint Velvet to Massimo Dutti, from Folkster to Calvin Klein. The sheer pleasure of being able to wander from store to store – seeing, touching, feeling! What a sense of freedom.

You can also breathe a sigh of relief – and relaxation – as you book your next grooming appointment, safe in the knowledge that Dundrum’s top-of-the-line salons and services – Edvard & Pink, MudPie Beauty Cottage, Shavata at Harvey Nichols, H by Gareth Bromwell at Harvey Nicholls, Skinfull Affairs, and Thérapie Clinic – are operating with full safety measures in place. Your safety comes first – a very important second though, is that fresh mani, haircut or facial.

Anticipating crowds? Don’t panic. Ahead of a visit, customers are encouraged to use the Crowd Checker feature on the Town Centre’s website, which will help shoppers plan their visit. By checking its status – which is updated every 15 minutes – you can beat the crowds and keep your shopping session relaxed.
