Colour In The City

This month we can explore the concept of paint in a completely different way at Curator’s Pop Up in South Anne Street. …

2020 has taught us something valuable about our homes and colour. We have contemplated our rooms at all times of day, in all moods and in all weathers and during full-on family use from dawn to dusk. We are more attuned to what works and what doesn’t, what feels warm and inviting no matter the time of day or night, and what seems cold and harsh. And this month we can explore the concept of paint in a completely different way at Curator’s Pop Up in South Anne Street. A first for an Irish paint brand, the colourful Pop Up space on South Anne Street is a celebration of colour, a fabulous way to get up close and personal with the unique paint collection created in collaboration with some of Ireland’s finest designers. The Curator collection comprises 144 paint colours, inspired by 29 Irish designers, available in five stunning finishes. The beauty of the colours is brought to life by the Pop Up’s unique interactive wall which shows each shade in varying light and shade. It’s a very special experience!

When you visit the Curator Pop Up you can browse all 144 shades, learn about the inspiration behind each shade and avail of a free one-to-one colour consultation appointment with Curator’s team of colour experts. Scheduled appointments will take place in private consultation pods: you can bring photographs of your own spaces and review different paint options with the help of a specialist. You will leave with a bespoke colour report highlighting the shades recommended for you, along with complimentary tester pot and A5 colour panels. Visitors will also be able to place orders online for delivery.

Managing Director of the long-established family-owned business, the General Paints Group, founded by her grandfather, Rachel O’Connor says: “We are excited and proud to unveil this very special Curator Pop Up. Curator is unique and personal to Ireland, created in close collaboration with Irish designers and the only Irish designer paint brand in the market. In a time when we all want to support Irish brands, we are proud to create this free experiential pop up as a thank you to our customers.”

In a year when we all paid more attention to the idea of using colour in the home to create and improve a space, we also discovered the impact of mood-enhancing shades. Rachel O’Connor has observed the trend for experimentation with more courageous colour choices; “We have noted a shift away from shades of grey that were once so popular towards earthier tones such as blues, greens and stone as well as the growing trend in sophisticated clean neutrals,” she says. For visitors contemplating a new colour scheme for the year ahead, the Curator Pop Up colour consultants will show visitors how these trends can be incorporated into their own homes.

“Now as we have had more time to appreciate the beauty that is around us, more than ever we want to celebrate the vibrancy and colour of Ireland. We are excited to bring the Curator story to life in the heart of Dublin and look forward to welcoming all interior enthusiasts, designers and creatives to experience this very special Irish designer paint brand, over the coming weeks.” Make sure to make the Curator Pop Up part of your next expedition to the city centre and be inspired!

There has never been a collection quite like Curator.
