Plan your autumn wardrobe updates with the help of these Irish designers …

Third-generation Irish clothing company JACK MURPHY, a favourite of actress Kate Winslet and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has collaborated with designer DEBORAH VEALE on a new capsule collection which updates the idea of country casuals. Signature pieces include the elegant Fran coat made from Magee 1866 tweed, the Jen Parka jacket with a faux fur-trimmed hood, and the Aisling tailored cape which works as well with jeans as it does with culottes and skirts; www.jackmurphy.ie.

Meath-based designer CLEO PRICKETT launches a sustainable collection with a contemporary tailoring edge. “One of my favourites is the sage-green wool Yaddi jacket of which there will only be eight pieces produced.” Prickett also sourced a charcoal herringbone merino wool from a Savile Row supplier which she has used in a pretty tailored top; www.cleoprickett.com.

The future is bright, says cashmere designer LAURA CHAMBERS whose AW21 collection is full of glamour, luxury and optimism. New this season are silk velvet trousers in wide-leg and cropped trackpant shapes, and jewel-coloured cashmere sweaters in off-the-shoulder, roundneck or poncho styles. “Our cashmere is handloomed in Dublin. One of the main objectives when starting the company was to create a 100 per cent Irish-made product we can be proud of.” www.laura-chambers.com

Customers of Carousel, now called CIRCUS, include actor Uma Thurman. The modern vintage clothing boutique, formerly on Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, and in Cork and Galway, has moved online and is thriving. The store’s upbeat and original ethos is carefully curated by owner Tom Walsh “I believe clothing should not just be functional but also express hope, fun and a person’s unique personality”; www.ilovecarousel.com.

Celebrating her first year in business, Julie Peelo’s PEELO accessories collection now includes a crossbody camera bag and generous back-to-work totes. “I’ve introduced two Italian leathers, a croc-embossed leather in hunter green and burgundy and a snakeskin-embossed leather in jewel tones of burgundy, navy and olive green.” New recycled wool beanies are soft and cosy for autumn walks; www.peelo.ie
