One of the most inspiring exhibitions at National Gallery of Ireland is the shortlist for the AIB Young Portrait Prize. This year’s judges are artists Amanda Coogan and Carl Hickey, with National Museum of Ireland Curator Donna Rose.
Winners are selected from four categories (6 and under, 7-11, 12-15 and 16-18), as well as an overall winner. Category winners will receive a bespoke art box and cash prize, while the overall winner will be awarded a personalised wooden box of high-quality art materials and cash prize of €500.
The exhibition of the shortlisted portraits will be on display in the Portrait Gallery (Room 23) from November 14,and the winner announced at a ceremony on December 2.
