Thanks to an exceptionally warm summer, the lines between dressing for holidays and dressing for staycations have never been so blurred. One universal piece? A pretty white dress, preferably one with a longer length, is breathable for warm weather but can easily be layered up for cooler climes.
Part and parcel of any staycation artillery? Trusty layers. A tank top teams well with a gingham shirt or a crisp blue iteration. Finish the look with a woven bag for a dash of sophistication.
Sports shorts, minus the sports, are the order of the day, according to the style set on Instagram. Even if we’re not going to be indulging in any athletic activities, we can jive with the relaxed aesthetic (and the drawstring waist). If you are dipping a toe in the trend, we like the idea of teaming shorts with a long-sleeved Breton top or, for contrast, a pretty white cotton blouse.

Staycation season is also knitwear season. Now’s the time to team cashmere with your favourite dress, a chunky pullover with shorts or simply to knot your favourite knit around your waist or shoulders for a pop of colour.
