Which knit? It’s the perennial question to build your capsule wardrobe. This season, knitwear is turbo-charged with luxurious touches. There’s a focus on brushed cashmere, both at high-end labels and on the high street, where COS is leading the charge with cashmere that’s the fashion insider’s secret weapon. (They team it with a slip dress by Róhe and say it’s by The Row.)

In terms of shape, button-up cardigans, polo sweaters and funnel neck jumpers all lead the charge, with honourable mention going to oversized fisherman sweaters that are imbued with the perfect slouch.
