Simple updates for the season …
From the trench coat renaissance and country chic outerwear continuing to have their moment to sharp tailoring and poetcore, Irish consumers are shifting trends from fast fashion fatigue for quick fixes to heritage pieces that last.
According to Matthew Murphy at luxury fashion specialists Jack Murphy, “The way people approach fashion is changing. There’s a growing appetite for pieces that feel purposeful and enduring. This year will be defined by unconventional layering, like wearing a trench as a dress, sharp tailoring and craftsmanship that never goes out of style.”
Trench Dresses
The humble trench coat is still considered an It Girl essential, even made into a meme – “trench coat buttoned to the TOP” – and has been solidified as a timeless staple in our wardrobe. According to Google Trends, trench coat dress searches jumped 74 per cent for the first time in five years, becoming a multi-purpose statement piece in its own right no longer confined to its traditional outerwear status. Look for variation and experimentation with lengths, materials and structure as a standalone look.
