Autumn may be embracing animal prints but that doesn’t mean you should run for the hills …
This season sees leopard, snake and zebra prints dominate. Why are they trending now? The runways went big on zebra print for autumn winter 2022, it was a hero pattern at Dries Van Noten – splashed on dresses and coats – as well as at labels like Et Ochs, Givenchy and AZ Factory. Meanwhile, the high street has been playing up to the trend in a big way. The fact that it’s been paired with crisp separates, and styled in a minimal fashion, at the likes of Mango and Zara makes it worthy of a revisit.
While the trend is definitely for the maximalists amongst us, there is a way to go big and still maintain your sense of style. Pair printed trousers with a white T-shirt or a crisp white shirt, invest in a zebra print blazer and wear it with everything from plain black outfits, to your favourite denims. Better yet, embrace the look with a printed bag, preferably a baguette style, in a nod to the 1990s. Shop a glossy edit of animal print pieces below.
