While the New York Fashion Week schedule has been getting smaller and smaller by the season, with brands like Tom Ford, Tommy Hilfiger, Jeremy Scott and Maryam Nassir Zadeh moving elsewhere or opting out of big shows completely, one thing hasn’t changed and that’s the endless stream of style inspiration on the streets. It appears that it’s what’s outside that really counts now.
The street style set at the AW20 shows displayed a masterclass in colour co-ordination, offering up a visual feast of cold weather appropriate outfits. Standout trends? Luxe leather in shades of chocolate brown and deep burgundy, updated trench coats with fringing, belts and embellishment, and trusty lug-sole boots best worn with trousers tucked in.
