The daily anxieties of modern life …
Since receiving an email from her manager requesting her presence in the office, Elaine has implemented a six-week strategy.
Upping the ante on her vitamin intake, the postman has looked at her curiously as he delivers various small packages (which rattle) from around the world.
As the coronastone has not shifted, Elaine is on a no-carb diet and has resumed Pilates Zooms in earnest. Whispering Angel and other treats are banned from the fridge.
As so much of her former working wardrobe is now dressing various charity shop windows, the what-to-wear conundrum looms large.
She’s read that checks are the new pinstripes, and pencil skirts are being replaced by comfortable kimono-inspired soft skirts. Hurrah!
Elaine decides a colourful “transition dress” is required. She has spied one from sustainable Irish designer Afore After and hopes to make a colourful first impression.
Obviously a new pair of box-fresh Vejas are a must. Some “halfway heels” – preferably blue slingback kittens – will accessorise her new wide-leg trousers in vegan leather.
Additional accessories include a new tote from Peelo and a bright new Mother Reusables keep cup for the coffee run.
Her capsule wardrobe under control, Elaine queries if her mindset is aligned. She’s dipping into some hypnotherapy of an evening to counteract any re-entry anxiety.
To bolster positivity she plans to buy some plants for her desk. Yucca for purification and aloe vera for protection. Whatever works, is her new mantra.
