14 Of The Best Hair Salons and Stylists to Book In With Now

Looking for a hair overhaul? Here are 14 of the best salons and stylists to book in with

As Fleabag put it: “Hair is everything.” Dramatic, yes, but with more than a grain of truth. Having spent lockdown trimming our own ends, wearing hats to hide our roots (it’s no coincidence that baseball caps came back into fashion) and massacring our condition with brutal home dyes, we learned the hard way that our hair is more than vanity. During lockdown, many took the matter into their own hands: it seems that no small amount of women (particularly of an older generation) will ignore any law if it stands in the way of getting their roots done. Many consider hairdressing an essential, not a luxury. We know that having good hair makes us feel so much better in all manner of ways – it gives us confidence, a psychological lift. One wise doctor I know says that it’s one way you know that a patient is on the mend – when they start putting on make-up again and paying attention to their hair after an illness.

It all means that now we have them back, we appreciate our experts all the more. During lockdown we compiled a wishlist of some of the best stylists in Dublin, and we’ve updated this below. It’s by no means exhaustive – but these are tried-and-trusted stalwarts who we know for a fact can give you a style overhaul for summer, or else fix any appalling home cut or colour disaster that’s still lingering from lockdown.

Who have we missed out? Please do tell us about your own favourite city stylists and why you rate them….
