It was just a matter of time. Jo Malone London body wash for dogs is here. Billed as a “brand-new grooming essential”, Orange & Cedarwood Dog Shampoo has just landed. I love the idea that this is an essential. In collaboration with pet-care brand WildWash, this fancy liquid shampoo “allows owners to give their dogs a pampering experience like no other,” with a scent “designed to equally enthuse both dogs and their owners.” Think naturally derived essential oils of orange and cedarwood that “transforms into a refreshing lather and freshens their coat, leaving it with a beautiful shine.” Each bottle, meanwhile, “features one of four collectable dog breed illustrations.”
And it’s all “personally approved” by actor and JML ambassador Tom Hardy’s French bulldog, who stars in the ads …
Will you be splashing out on fancy dog shampoo? I do admit to resorting to the odd squirt of Aveda for my oversized dog occasionally, when we’ve run out of the usual basic stuff – and she does then smell glorious for a day or two. Does this mean we’re seeing the dogification of beauty? And what could be next – a niacinamide serum for those jowls? Blowdry cream? A Dyson for dog drying? Designer dog toothpaste? The possibilities are endless …
