The new going out is ‘competitive socialising’ games clubs, which could be just what Dublin city’s former nightclub scene needs …
Super Social, Leopardstown Racecourse, Dublin
Ireland’s first Super Social event space features a 15,000 sq.ft restaurant and bar, with a fully interactive Super Social Arena. This unique twist on a night out brings us back to a nostalgic time of arcade-type entertainment … IFKYK! Super Social boasts Hi-Tech Mini Golf, NxGen Darts and Supercharged Shuffleboards, while the main attraction resembles that of the TV show The Cube, where there are multiple challenges to conquer. The drinks menu includes an extensive range of cocktails, wines and beers, while food options cover everything you might want for the perfect games night – from nachos to burgers, pizza and crazy milkshakes – with starters ranging from buffalo wings to mac and cheese. This is strictly over 13s before 6pm (accompanying adult required) and over 18s after. @supersocialdublin
Pitch Golf, Dawson Street, Dublin
This modern gold club can be found in Grafton Place in the centre of Dublin. Spanning 9,000 sq. ft., the driving range was recently updated and features ten bays designed with golf at its core, from Trackman technology, PGA Academy (offering lessons and practice for those looking to upskill), and virtual multi-player mini-golf games like Party Putt and Cannon Bowl, which make this a real party place for everyone involved – no matter what your level. There’s also a large bar with craft beers and cocktails, and Pan-Asian food to enjoy as you play, plus live music and resident DJs to entertain the room. Perfect for a lads’ or ladies’ day out! @pitch.ireland
Lane 7, Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14
Your go-to gaming destination post-shopping and close to Pembroke quarter, Lane7 will offer a host of activities including boutique bowling, augmented darts, floor shuffle, curling, ping pong, pool and dedicated karaoke booths, plus great games food and drink. It’s the perfect place to book for large groups, hen parties, work parties or more casual nights when you want to do something different. This opening ties in with new restaurant Roncheng, a very popular Chinese eatery, which is also based in Blackrock. @lane7_ie
Flight Club, Dawson Street, Dublin
Open in February, the first Flight Club in Ireland (now ten years running in the UK) takes the place of Sam’s Bar and Samsara, as part of a €7m renovation. This 360 degree bar includes semi-private oches (darts areas), fairground-inspired décor and extensive menu featuring signature cocktails and artisan pizzas. For darts fans (or not), expect competitive darts, expert-hosted tournaments and hi-tech Social Darts with instant replays, dynamic gameplay and shareable highlights. Plus live DJ sets.
