From a luxury picnic and health workshop to a coffee festival, here’s some ideas to add to your diary …
National Picnic Week
It’s National Picnic Week, perhaps an excuse to take your packed lunch outside rather than eat it al desko. I also recommend booking a posh picnic hamper to enjoy at Stauntons on the Green, Dublin 2 where the hotel’s private garden leads onto the beautiful Iveagh Gardens, a peaceful urban retreat. An overnight stay in a Townhouse Double Room with breakfast for two starts from €219; the picnic experience costs an additional €20 per person, €40 for two. Prosecco and Champagne picnic packages are also available. @stauntonsonthegreen
Birdhill Coffee Festival
For coffee lovers, The Birdhill Coffee Festival, Co Tipperary returns on June 26 with masterclasses, espresso machine experts, coffee cocktails and artisan food experiences. Hosted at The Old Barracks Coffee Roastery, the festival has been designed for people who brew at home – whether you use a French press, a pod machine, or a high-end home espresso set-up – this three-day event will help finesse your morning ritual. Visitors can also win icoffee prizes every single day including a Sage Barista Touch Impress (worth €1,500) and other prizes worth up to €500 including a year’s supply of coffee through the Old Barracks Coffee Roastery signature subscription service. @oldbarrackscoffeeroasters
The Yoga Picnic
Do bookmark The Yoga Picnic, which takes place against the backdrop of Lilliput House, Co Westmeath on July 4. What began as local gathering in 2022 has grown into a major wellness event for everyone, from complete beginners trying yoga beginners to experienced practitioners. The 2026 programme includes yoga, meditation, yoga nidra, breathwork, sound healing, ecstatic dance, drumming circles, poetry readings, cacao ceremonies, forest activities, workshops and live music. @theyogapicnic
Health Workshop
The serene and secluded Arunachala, Co Laois is Ireland’s first centre dedicated to caring for people using ancient Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatments. If you’re curious about this practice why not try its one-day holistic health Summer Rejuvenation Workshop, €120, a relaxing day to learn and reconnect with yourself. This includes an introduction to Ayurveda and Yoga by Ayurveda consultant and specialist Ramesh Krishnan, a yoga and aromatherapy session by Aoife Barry, a sound bath session by Aisling Conroy, and a nourishing Ayurvedic lunch with herbal teas and healthy snacks. @arunachala.ie
Curry Club
I’ve never not had a fun time with colleagues at Kinara Kitchen Ranelagh where its al fresco rooftop is made for after work drinks and dinner. It has just launched a new Curry Club, serving some of its most popular curries with pilau rice and naan for €22 every Monday to Wednesday. Great value! Even better, a new loyalty card scheme has been introduced, meaning diners can enjoy their eleventh Curry Club dish entirely free. @kinara_group
Ice Cream Collaboration
One of the prettiest summer terraces is always at The River Club, in The River Lee, Cork where its new Sundaes & Spritz terrace theme has been unveiled, a collaboration with Irish gelato makers Scúp Gelato. Decorated with a fresh palette of white and blue florals, with striking delphiniums taking centre stage this is a gorgeous place where guests can unwind and enjoy a taste of Italian-inspired summer living in the city. On Thursdays throughout the summer, the River Club terrace will offer complimentary Scúp gelato scoops to guests between 6pm and 6.15pm, served from the River Club gelato bike with the purchase of a cocktail. @theriverlee
