Prior to glam, award-winning celebrity facial masseur and Augustinus Bader global brand ambassador Lord Gavin McLeod-Valentine treated Emily to the Method Augustinus Bader, a bespoke treatment that combines personalised facials with massage techniques to improve lymphatic drainage, reduce tension and boost skin rejuvenation. He said; “I had the great privilege of treating Em to the professional facial treatment from Augustinus Bader, enhanced by my own signature facial massage technique. The Method systematically layers the complete AB skincare collection to instantly revive, hydrate and nourish the skin. Fascia facial massage further defines, tones and sculpts the complexion for true red-carpet radiance.”
Make-up artist Jenn Streicher used Charlotte Tilbury to complement Emily’s look that “nodded to structured, uniform-inspired tailoring with a dark smokey eye that felt like modern-day face armour.”
She started by prepping the skin with Magic Cream to create a smooth, hydrated base. For complexion, she applied Airbrush Flawless Foundation mixed with a touch of Hollywood Flawless Filter to create a soft, lit-from-within glow, then perfected the skin with Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer for a seamless, natural-looking finish.
Jenn primed the eyes with Nude Sculpt Eyeshadow Stick to create a smooth, long-wearing base. She blended Bronzed Garnet over the lid for warmth and dimension, then defined the eyes with Rock ’N’ Kohl Eyeliner in black for added intensity. To build depth, she pressed shade #2 from the Luxury Palette in Rock Chick across the lid and deepened the outer corners with the darkest shade in the palette. A few coats of Exagger-Eyes Mascara finished the look, adding lift and volume.
To softly blur and set, Jenn swept Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder across the nose and forehead, then locked everything in place with Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. She finished the look by defining the lips with Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk and topping with Plumpgasm Lip Gloss for a fuller, high-shine finish.
World-renowned celebrity manicurist Julie Kandalec opted for a dark nail with Essie Gel Couture Spiked With Style topcoat. She added a single circle from the shade Set In Stones on each nail, using Russian painter Kandinsky as inspiration as he believed that the circle represents cosmic harmony.
Celebrity hairstylist Laini Reeves kept Emily’s hair simple, saying of the slicked back bun; “I wanted the hair to look sleek to complement the military style.” She used TRESemmé A-List Collection All-In-One Style Primer on damp hair with a paddle brush from root to ends. She blowdried the hair with a flat brush using the Dyson Supersonic Professional to smooth it out and Dyson Airwrap to straighten the hair. She then applied A-List Collection Bonding Oil on the root to mid length to create a sleek ponytail. She applied dry shampoo to make the hair more pliable, then twisted the hair into a knot, leaving the ends out to create an ’80s feel, and finishing with hairspray to hold in place.
Emily has glowed throughout the grueling promotional world tour for The Devil Wears Prada 2, released just before the Met, so we’ll have what she’s having!
