Calling All Young Entrepreneurs With A Focus On Sustainability

BMW Ireland has launched a competition to find its next brand ambassador, and it could be you …

Early support for a founder can be instrumental for the making or breaking of a fledgling business. No one knows this more so than Peigín Crowley, founder of GROUND Wellbeing, who launched her cosmetics business during the pandemic. Having spent over 25 years as a spa consultant designing wellness spaces and product lines, in 2020, following her own experience with stress and burnout, she embarked on a quest to create unique products and at-home rituals that could easily be incorporated into a daily self-care routine. When founding GROUND Wellbeing, she was conscious of building the brand on the principles of sustainable practices every step of the way.

Starting at her kitchen table in Co Cork, GROUND Wellbeing is now stocked in spas across the world, from The Rosewood in Hong Kong to Bvlgari Hotel London and The Four Seasons in Geneva. She cites her early support from BMW Ireland as part of her success. Peigín has been a Friend of the Brand at BMW Ireland since 2021, gaining invaluable support and access to initiatives that helped drive her business forward. “This programme gave our business an incredible boost in visibility, confidence and credibility,” says Peigín. “Now it’s time to pay that forward and support the next founder ready to make their mark.”

Having experienced firsthand the transformative support of this BMW partnership, Peigín is now on the panel to choose the next brand ambassador as part of the BMW Future Entrepreneur Competition. This campaign aims to empower early-stage entrepreneurs by inviting founders of start-up businesses from across Ireland to apply for a unique opportunity to partner with BMW Ireland, offering brand visibility, expert mentoring, and the use of a fully electric BMW for the duration of the programme.

As part of the competition, BMW Ireland is looking for founders with a focus on innovation and sustainability. To be eligible, applicants must: be the founder or co-founder of a start-up business (under five years old); be aged 23 or older and a resident of the Republic of Ireland; hold a clean, valid driving license for two years or more; have a registered legal business entity; and have a strong digital presence and sustainability focus.

How to apply: All you have to do is submit a three-minute elevator-style video pitch, along with a completed entry form, showcasing what you do – and how you do it differently. Applications are open until June 22 on discover.bmw.ie, where you can find full terms and conditions. Shortlisted finalists will be invited to a networking lunch on July 16, where the winner will be announced.
