Behind The Scenes At Ireland Fashion Week

A look behind the scenes at the first Ireland Fashion Week

The inaugural Ireland Fashion Week was created to celebrate leading and emerging Irish designers across seven flagship shows at heritage locations, community events and a fashion illustration exhibition, with over a thousand attendees from industry experts to fashion lovers.

IFW showcases the breadth of Irish design and creativity across modern heritage, sustainability, streetwear, sport and graduate design, set in some of Ireland’s most iconic venues. The week opened at Avoca, held in the beautiful surrounds of The Fern House, followed by the M&S Autumn Winter 2025 Collection show at the historic Irish Georgian Society. Bold Golf’s sportswear took over Teeling Whiskey Distillery in Dublin, redefining golf apparel with a modern twist. Rashhiiid’s streetwear show at Douglas Hyde Gallery featured one-of-a-kind pieces rooted in the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, which finds beauty in imperfection. Fans of the brand include Megan Fox, Megan The Stallion and Doja Cat.

Sasha Donnellan’s SS2026 collection.

The one to watch in the industry, Sasha Donnellan’s contemporary show in the Windmill Quarter in Dublin marked the debut of her spring/summer 2026 collection. Trained at ESMOD Paris, with previous experience working with Vivienne Westwood and Dilara Findikoglu, sustainability is embedded in the brand’s approach through sourcing deadstock fabrics and incorporating natural biodegradable fibres, all while maintaining ethical local production practices. Championing the future of fashion, the Irish sea show gathered 40 graduate designers in a groundbreaking showcase at The Marker Hotel Dublin. Each designer presents a fresh perspective on innovation and sustainability, reflecting the diversity of Ireland’s next generation of talent.

Paul Costelloe‘s AW25 collection.

Against the breathtaking backdrop of Ballynahinch Castle in Co Galway, Aoife McNamara‘s modern heritage show presented her new collection – a love letter to nature. Guests were treated to an intimate performance by Bressie as her ethereal designs were on full display. The Irish roots show at Slane Castle in Co Meath brought together nine legendary designers – Magee 1866, Avoca, Helen Steele, IrelandsEye, Triona, Louis Copeland, Jack Murphy, Mary O’Sullivan and Amy Frankie Moroney – each presenting four looks to honour the past while redefining the future. Paul Costelloe‘s landmark show closed the week, with decades of design excellence apparent in his autumn-winter collection in the grand surroundings of Dublin’s City Hall.
