Your main fault My mind runs at such a pace that I sometimes assume I’ve communicated something important when, in fact, I’ve only thought it.
A pastime you like outside work Board games, crosswords, Wordle, spelling bees, Sudoku, reading. When I need to get outside, running and gardening.
Your idea of happiness Time with my children in a beautiful place, unhurried, with space to breathe. Ideally the northwest of Mallorca.

If not yourself, who would you be? A writer living surrounded by books in a period house in a quiet coastal town, with a beautiful garden and sea air.
Your current state of mind Focused and ambitious, but also reflective – conscious of what matters most as I plan. Less but better is the motto.
Your favourite colour, tree and flower Indanthrene Blue – it’s a signature tone of mine. Monkey puzzle – they always strike me as architectural, long lived and wise. Hydrangeas, blue and purple.
Most overrated virtue Self-discipline: it can be exhausting!

Your favourite artist Diana Copperwhite. I love Brian Bourke’s landscapes.
Your favourite musical artists and composers Ralph Vaughan Williams (Vaughan is my son’s middle name, I listened to “The Lark Ascending” on repeat while pregnant with him), Tame Impala, PJ Harvey, Henryk Gorecki, Little Dragon and Chappell Roan.
The principal aspect of my personality Relentless drive paired with a love of beautiful things.
Your idea of good taste Understated confidence, the ability to edit and resist the unnecessary. People who have confidence in what they like, a true sense of their own style. It’s rare.
The quality I look for in my surroundings Texture and sensory immersion. I love layers of interest in my surroundings.
I try to preserve the environment by … in my work, investing in pieces that last, supporting sustainable makers, and designing with longevity in mind. Personally, I love antiques, pre-loved clothes and plant cuttings from my mother!
The country where I should like to live I am very proud to call Ireland home, but a second base on the northwest coast of Mallorca for the light, the food, and the beauty, would be the dream.
I look to the road ahead with … Purpose, focus and optimism, knowing there’s still much to create, build, and discover.
