6 Stunning Saunas With Extra Benefits To Enjoy Around Ireland

The sauna scene in Ireland is still growing …

The Hot Box

Creators Liam, Luke and Dan built their first sauna at Bective Mill in Meath in 2021. With demand for more wellness rituals on the rise across the country, these Finnish-inspired saunas are now in six scenic locations in Louth, Carlow, Sligo, with another opening in Dublin this autumn. Each unit is designed and built by their sister company, Aalto Saunas, following research trips to regions like Finland, Estonia and Latvia to bring these traditions to Ireland. @thehotboxsauna

Samhradh’s Sauna

This mobile wood-fired sustainable sauna can often be found at Cromane Beach on the Iveragh peninsula in Co Kerry, or it can also come to you! Founder Bébhinn – a qualified national tour guide – prefers the sauna to be near water as a space for healing through the benefits of hot and cold therapy. Enjoy sea and skyscapes from the panoramic window to connect with nature. In that vein, for every sauna experience the team plants a native Irish tree on their land at home on Clare Island. @samhradhs_sauna

Wild Wellness Sauna

Founder Bronwyn came into the sauna business by accident, having bought a custom-built mobile sauna to relieve arthritic pain in 2021. She brought it to Garrettstown Beach in Kinsale, Co Cork and let locals have a go! With Ireland’s only certified sauna yoga instructors, their ultimate hot yoga sessions with Hazel Dennehy blend breathwork and intentional poses to stretch and reduce stress before a sea dip and warming herbal tea to detox. @wildercork

Wild Atlantic Sláinte Saunas

Perched on the edge of Old Head Beach with views of Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay, Mayo’s first Wild Atlantic Sauna has easy access to the sea at both high and low tide. They also offer a yoga, sauna and coffee ritual on the beach to recharge. Worth a look are the secret caves for a special swim before or after your sauna. @wildatlanticsauna
