5 Styling Tips To Steal Now From The Celine Show In Paris

In Paris, Michael Rider debuted his inaugural show at Celine for spring 2026 to a flurry of compliments. Here’s how we’ll be emulating the brand’s new Parisian look …

Carry your basket

If Michael Rider’s debut at Celine was all about reviving traditional French dressing codes, then the addition of a basket bag on the runway was entirely apt. To keep things feeling fresh, these woven carry-alls were boxy in shape and tucked, just-so, under the arm, akin to a newspaper of a loaf of bread. This was teamed with pleated wide-leg culottes in an expensive looking shade of cream, with a pair of black flat Mary Janes as the final flourish: a look we can see ourselves trying on cooler summer days. As for jewellery, a barrage of necklaces with foraged charms completed the outfit. This kind of accessory overload was a repeated styling trick throughout the runway show.

Team a silk scarf with everything

The hero of the Celine spring 26 show? Undeniably, it was the revival of the house’s classic silk printed scarves. The scarves were teamed with everything: dark, cinched blazers, layered with modern Celine classic, a white turtleneck, and worn large across the chest in striking red, contrasted with an all-blue outfit. Instead of looking horsey, or too heritage, the effect was utterly modern. Styled with contemporary pieces, this is the kind of look you would imagine encountering on an interestingly dressed woman on the streets of the Marais.

Belt buckles are big

Part vintage, part rhinestone cowboy, the belt buckles at Celine had a Yellowstone quality – see this embossed gold buckle which was offset perfectly by a pressed white shirt and a black blazer.

Revive your drainpipe trousers

The trousers silhouette at Celine was notably slim. Skin-tight, in fact. Will this herald a bona fide return of skinny jeans? We’ll see. In the meantime, we were more intrigued by the black leggings which weren’t too far a cry from jodhpurs. Teamed with leather loafers and a long camel coat (or trench) and with a pop of red slung around the shoulders, it’s a look that’s got instant, wearable appeal.

Wear all of your (vintage-look) rings at once

When it comes to jewellery, the mood at Celine was clear: more is definitely more. With rings, this meant cramming as many onto your fingers as possible, in a chic hodge-podge. Each ring just happened to look like it was carefully sourced at an antique shop, or the Saint Ouen flea market, adding to the off-beat vibe.

As for the rest of your jewellery box? Pile that on with an equal amount of exuberance. Chunky charm bracelets and necklaces boasted XL trinkets and Celine logo pendants, while plain wool jackets got a jazzy upgrade care of moreish brooches.
