This Is What Women In Paris Are Actually Wearing Now

What’s cool now in French style? We’re sharing these dispatches from the streets of Paris …

Patent ballet flats? High-waisted jeans? Boat-neck top? All present and correct. We love how this look leans into the hallmarks of Parisienne style, but the black shoulder bag makes it feel contemporary.

Mini hemlines aren’t just for summer, as the French style set proves. However, ensure you choose an autumn-appropriate fabric to pump the new season aesthetic: think pinstripes, dark shades and accessories such as an of-the-moment studded belt.

Accessorising, the cool way: pairing a gold chain necklace with a white T-shirt feels very French in spirit. Lest we forget that French women are masterful at high-low dressing.

Corduroy trousers are big news for autumn. We love them best in earthy shades like olive and terracotta. Opt for a tonal look, as pictured here, or turn up the contrast by teaming a pair of cords with a crisp blue shirt.

Brown is always on trend for autumn and Parisiennes wear it with aplomb. To get the look layer different shades of brown – from glossy conker to dark chocolate – with different textures such as suede, mock-croc and leather.

Statement-making but still demure, we’ve noticed plenty of oxblood and red accessories on the streets of Paris of late. Style yours with classic colours such as a camel coat and keep the rest of your look simple with a white T-shirt and jeans.

Trench coat, dark denim and leopard-print shoes: we love how this outfit nods to what’s trending now but also feels very classic.

Swathe yourself in a winter coat that stretches towards your ankles, as seen on Alice Pilate. Note the decadent brass button detailing.

It’s capri pants, boxy cropped jackets and slouchy, hobo style bags for the win, according to influencer Leia Sfez.

Update straight or wide-leg jeans to a pair of barrel or curved leg ones. We love how them paired with loafers, a gabardine-look coat and a simple leather cross-body bag, as pictured here.
