What’s new in denim for spring? There’s freshness coming down the tracks. Firstly, the barrel-leg shapes which were the wildcard of last season are not only hanging around, fashion is doubling down on the trend by leaning into the irregular silhouette. This season’s ‘bubble’ styles boast an even more exaggerated leg shape. Look to cool brands such as Frame and Citizens of Humanity to get the look.
Last season saw colours run the gamut of bleached out pale denim and dark blacks, while SS25 sees rich, true blue shades come to the fore, as well as moody mid-blues that could double as greys. Meanwhile, white will always be in style and the zenith of this is the Joanie jeans by Tribeca designer Nili Lotan (if you don’t follow the designer’s account for style inspiration, we recommend you do).
Lastly, if you’re looking for a looser look, drawstring waists (of the stylish variety) are trending, while utilitarian cargo shapes are set to make a comeback (this time they have a curved leg). Ease into a new season of denim with these stand-out styles below.
