The Four Seasons on Netflix
A Tina Fey creation with fellow 30 Rock writer-producers Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, Date Night co-stars Tina and Steve Carrell reunite on screen after fifteen years in this eight-episode series, with Will Forte and Colman Domingo adding even more comic relief. This adaptation of Alan Alda’s 1981 big-screen rom-com (who makes a cameo), starring Carol Burnett and Rita Moreno, the small-screen iteration follows the foursome’s decades-long relationships since college and how divorce can cause a schism in the group. Guaranteed to make you laugh or even cry, it may also inspire your next getaway as one of the highlights is that the characters are always on vacation – from New York to Puerto Rico.

Dying For Sex on Disney+
Co-created by Kim Rosenstock who’s behind hit shows like Only Murders In The Building, New Girl and GLOW, this dramedy – based on a true story book and podcast of the same name – has the perfect mix of feel-good, heart-wrenching and thought-provoking moments. The eight-part short series follows a woman (played by the magical Michelle Williams) who leaves her husband of 15 years to explore her sexuality as she faces terminal cancer. Also starring Jenny Slate (It Ends With Us) and Rob Delaney (Catastrophe), this must-watch show will leave its mark.

The Studio on Apple TV
Seth Rogan’s small screen comedy debut has already achieved critical acclaim for its direction, cinematography and satire of the film industry. Starring as a newly appointed head of a Hollywood production studio, hilarity ensues with fellow execs Catherine O’Hara, Bryan Cranston, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders as things go from bad to worse at the struggling company. It has become notable for its extensive use of long takes (a true art as seen in Adolescence), as well as for featuring high-profile celebrity cameos in every episode such as Martin Scorsese, Ron Howard, Charlize Theron, Olivia Wilde, Sarah Polley, Greta Lee, Steve Buscemi, Dave Franco, Zac Efron, Johnny Knoxville, Josh Hutcherson and even Ice Cube!

Hacks, on Prime Video
This hilarious dramedy starring Jean Smart and newcomer Hannah Einbinder centres on the challenging professional and inter-personal relationship between a legendary stand-up comedienne struggling to hold on to her dwindling empire and young, then-unemployed writer she hires to liven up her material. The first three seasons received critical acclaim and won many accolades including Golden Globe and Emmy Awards. The latest season is a departure as the two reunite a year after parting, riding high off their success and pursuing new opportunities in LA. It has a 98 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so that’s all you need to know.

The Last Of Us on NOW TV
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return in this Emmy-winning dystopian thriller that entralled everyone in the first season, so much so that HBO renewed it for a second season less than two weeks after the series premiered in 2023, which is practically unheard of. Set twenty years into a pandemic caused by a mass fungal infection that causes its hosts to transform into zombie-like creatures, staying true to the hit video game that the show’s based on, season two picks up five years later where the beloved characters are at loggerheads trying to adapt to the new post-apocalyptic world. Expect more Odyssean adventures and LGBTQIA+ romantic plot lines, which is refreshing to see. If you haven’t watched it yet, we highly recommend that you catch up quickly … especially if you want to avoid major spoilers as all hell breaks loose soon into the new season!
