5 Scintillating Catwalk Moments We’re Still Thinking About From Paris Fashion Week
By Sarah Macken
Paris Fashion Week may be over but these catwalk moments are still inspiring us …
Snakeskin trousers at Dior

At Jonathan Anderson‘s Dior, every detail was considered and utterly feminine. There were also some unexpected pieces in the guise of metallic snakeskin-effect trousers, in gold, silver, and green which had an outré, French party-girl vibe. These were paired with sumptuous cream blazers, diaphanous tops in ice blue shades and jewel-encrusted swan minaudieres (swoon).
Tablecloth dressing at The Row

An unexpected dash of frothiness occurred at The Row: the minimalist brand proposed nonna lace shawls draped over trench coats and incorporated into tops. The memo? Tabletop dressing has come for our wardrobes in the most elevated of ways.
The library as the new runway

Fashion frequently elevates the bookworm to geek chic status. See: the recent announcement that Dior’s pre-fall 27 show will be held at Trinity College Dublin. This season Valentino chimed in, staging its SS27 show in Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève in Paris. The bralet reigned supreme on the runway and the menswear looks – with their brash combination of plaid shirting, OTT embellishment and normcore slogan baseball hats – stole our hearts. Most importantly, attendees had to bring along their own book which would be donated to local libraries. (We enjoyed the fact that actress Samara Weaving was pictured flashing her copy of Evenings And Weekends by Irish author Oisín McKenna.)
Olivia Colman models at Miu Miu

We’re no strangers to a celebrity cameo during fashion month (in fact, if a show wants a viral moment, it’s a prerequisite). However, there was something about seeing brilliant British actress Olivia Colman, replete with a new grey hairdo, walk the runway at Miu Miu that had an impact. Maybe it was her knowing smile, or her nonchalant stride: either way, we’re signed up.
Rain gear, but make it fashion

At Chloé, alongside floral motifs and gauzy layering, Chemena Kamali offered up a striking solution for dodging transeasonal showers. Sheer (perfect, so you can still see your look, non?) rain ponchos with matching XL hats were draped over outfits, while utility dressing got a twist, care of safari jackets and floppy hats with striking, asymmetric trains.
