Easter inspiration, from tablescaping and treats to travel and a fitness challenge …
Easter Tablescape
Each year, I try to add something new to my Easter table. I particularly like the new range of glass and porcelain decorations from the Francis Brennan Collection at Dunnes Stores. The floral LED eggs make great presents too. I also love TX Maxx‘s range of premium homeware that can be found for incredible value. If perusing the homewares section at Brown Thomas Dublin, customers who spend €50 or more will receive a handprinted ceramic egg from Irish artist Sarah O’Dea – a pretty keepsake. There’s also Lego pop-up at Arnotts where visitors can also create and customise their own Lego Easter egg. While in store, check out the Sugar Plum Sweety pop-up for indulgent treats and gifts. @francisbrennan4375 @tkmaxxie
Chocolate Scents
For those averse to chocolate, an uplifting candle is always a welcome treat. As an alternative, how about a Chocolat Candle from La Bougie or its Sage & Bitter Orange, a lovely hit of spring. @labougieofficial
Colomba Cake
For me, Easter wouldn’t be Easter without colomba – a traditional Italian dove-shaped cake – I have my eye on the stylish Dolce & Gabbana tin at Brown Thomas.
Easter Travel
I always enjoy Pasqua or Easter in Rome where candlelit processions and festive feasts make the Eternal City particularly magical. On Good Friday evening, thousands gather at the Colosseum for the moving Via Crucis procession. Led by the Pope, the candlelit ceremony retraces the Stations of the Cross as prayers and reflections are read, creating one of the most powerful moments of the Roman Easter calendar. Easter Sunday brings another grand gathering, as pilgrims fill St Peter’s Square for the Pope’s Urbi et Orbi blessing from the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica. For a posh stay or brunch, the Hotel Hassler Roma is recommended. It’s a short stroll from the lush Villa Borghese gardens. @hotelhasslerroma
Spring Challenge
For something completely different, if you want to kickstart your summer exercise regime the brave among us can join Saint Studios Sweat Challenge from April 13-23. All you have to do is complete eight workouts in eleven days and then you’ll be in with a chance of winning a dining experience at SOLE Seafood & Grill in Dublin to reward all of your hard work. For some me-time, recharge with a sauna, ice bath or cold plunge therapy. @_saintsstudio_
