10 Questions With Amy Huberman

Amy Huberman talks staying in, going out, OTT outfits and her tipple of choice …

GOING OUT

Friday or Saturday night? There’s something about a Friday night; the giddiness of the weekend upon us. And then at least there’s a full two days afterwards to rest and recoup.

Dinner or cocktails or both? Definitely both! And dinner not cooked by myself! I’m going to go with a pre-dinner cocktail followed by a lovely dinner if I had to choose. Preferably Thai or Mexican cuisine, and talking until you’re hoarse.

My signature tipple is… Gin and tonic with a squeeze of fresh lime. I also would not say no to a glass of bubbles. Both have a sense of occasion that say the work is done let’s relax!

Some of my favourite haunts are… I love the buzz in 777; a mix of great food and great atmosphere. I also love Uno Mass and Host in Ranelagh. I was with friends in Lisbon recently and we went out to a restaurant that turned into a hybrid club/ dancefloor after 12 Praia no Parque and we danced until I was definitely regretting my sky high footwear choice!

I wear… Jeans and runners and leather jackets by day, and lots of glitter and colour if I’m going out! If it has a sequin, or a splash of colour or metallic, even a feather, I’m in!

A recent great night featured… Close friends laughing, consoling, cheering and championing each other, and feeling grateful to be making memories, and planning more…

ENTERTAINING IN

Planned or impromptu? Definitely planned! If someone suggests going out and it’s not already in the diary outside a two week window I may pass out. I’d like to think I’m spontaneous, but only if some serious planning has gone into it! With three children and work and family life I can’t be quite as spontaneous as I would have been when I was younger. Perhaps when I’m older and all my chicks have flown the nest I’ll be booking next day flights to Vegas on a whim!

My favourite food to serve is… Anything edible… I’m not the finest chef but I do like nibbles! I like little bits of different things, that’s why I really enjoy tapas and Thai. Hmmmm, I still haven’t really committed to saying I serve them though. Bringing the Air Fryer into things at this point doesn’t quite have the same dinner party vibes though (or does it? If no one knows…?)

On my bar cart is… Of course Tanueray gin! It helps that the colour of the bottle (a deep emerald green) is one of my favourite colours which is a help with décor and my outfits!

A favourite indulgence/pick-me-up… Oooh I think that would be a nice takeaway. I do love Kinara Kitchen Indian; getting into pjs and having that on the couch watching a new TV show is a little slice of heaven. (While maybe purchasing a glittery dress online while I do). Life is all about balance right?
