Like a genie out of a bottle, evening glamour is unleashed from a bag, a scarf, shoes, jewellery – presto! From deep, feathered cuffs on statement dresses, to stealthy feather trims on otherwise minimalist items and all manner of feathered accessories, feathers are this season’s answer to ruffles and tulle. Everyone from Prada to more affordable (but still high fashion) brands like Loeffler Randall are here to stock your wardrobes with fluff. A subtle way to embrace the feathers trend is with a trim, an excellent way to add a playful element to your outfit. And don’t bother wearing heels: even Cinderella didn’t make it past midnight in those.
