The founder of Bouclème Hair Care tells us about her beauty favourites, best beauty investments, home fragrances she covets and her important beauty ethos…
1. Key beauty staples/old favourites I am never without … I love to use Pai Middlemist Seven Cream Cleanser morning and night. It’s formula is so creamy and gentle, and perfect for my dry skin. I use Tropic Skincare Sun Day facial Defence SPF 50 daily, it’s such an important skincare step. It’s a great natural sunscreen that isn’t thick or heavy, and sits wonderfully under make up.
I like to use multi-tasking products, and swear by Ilia Multistick in the shade Cheek To Cheek. It gives a lovely dewy effect on skin and lips. Now we’re heading into the colder months, Twelve Beauty Hyaluroil Lip Treatment is always on hand to help nourish dry lips, it’s super hydrating and wears like a gloss. Lastly, my haircare range, Bouclème is the ultimate staple in my haircare routine to keep my curls healthy and hydrated – Bouclème Intensive Moisture Treatment, €34 is my favourite for moisture, definition, and shine.
2. Best beauty investments – what I spend a bit more on that is worth it… My Facegym Pro is a great tool for lifting and sculpting the face, it uses an electrical current to activate facial muscles and keep my skin looking lifted and awake – it gives me a minute of ‘me time’ too. I adore Le Labo’s Another 13 – I love a warm and spicy fragrance and this is my go-to all year round. I Aurelia’s Probiotic Concentrate Serum – I layer this under my daily moisturiser, and have found it really helps to reduce hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
3. Most recent purchase … I like to switch up my moisturiser in between seasons. My new find is Youth To The People’s Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream. I’m also enjoying Refy’s Brow Sculpt and Tint to define my brows, and Pat McGrath’s Mascara – the results are amazing, instant length and volume for my lashes.
4. Favourite places to shop for beauty … Contentbeautywellbeing.com is my go-to for all things new-in and clean beauty, otherwise, Selfridges and Cult Beauty all have great brands.
5. All-time favourite beauty item … Aromatherapy Associates Bath Oils. I love these beautiful bath oils, my go to’s are Inner Strength for when I’m in need of some resilience, or Revive for when I’m exhausted, but have a night out planned.
6. I’m coveting … A new make-up brand find for me this year is Merit. I already have and love their Perfecting Complexion Stick, and am keen to try out their Flush Balm in Persimmon next!
7. The loveliest perfume bottle on my dressing table … Maya Njie’s Vanilj – Maya makes the most amazing and unique perfume blends. This is a mix of sweet, spice and earthy tones, heaven in a bottle!
8. My home fragrance …
I have loved Neom candles for so long, my favourite is Happiness. Bramley’s All Natural Soothing Room Diffuser gives off a fresh natural scent throughout the house.
9. One foundation I swear by … I don’t wear foundation but instead go for a bronzer to bring a bit of glow all year round, I love Milk Makeup’s Bionic Bronzer, its liquid, so blends seamlessly into the skin. In the evening I top it off with Tan Luxe Super Gloss for a gorgeous dewy finish.
10. My beauty ethos … Beauty is only skin deep. It’s who you are, and how you make people feel that makes you beautiful.
