We hope US brand Cadence brings its travel sets here – the colourful, magnetic, honeycomb-shaped pots are a smart and effective (if pricey) way to transport creams and lotions (make-up artist Lisa Eldridge swears by them). For now, we’re using Muji’s stacking pots (€3.95 for five) and mini pump bottles.
Also neat for travel is Proshine’s Solid Body Oil, a fragrant stick moisturiser (€38) that gives skin a non-sticky sheen.
And Ilia’s lip crayons (in twelve shades) double as lip liner; blend with lip balm for a creamier finish (€31, at Space NK).
ROSE-TINTED CHIC
The best-looking beauty brand on our radar right now is Bienaimé, a Parisian brand first started in 1935, and given a renaissance by Cécilia Mergui in 2021. It has Buly vibes, with striking Art Deco styling, distinctive pink and red packaging and elegant, innovative fragrances, skincare and gifts. Stocked in Fortnum & Mason in London and supremely photogenic stores in Paris, this is one to watch.
FRENCH FANCY
French pharmacy classic Embryolisse Crème Concentré is perfect for this time of year – with its rich texture and beautiful jasmine scent, it’s a luxurious, high-performing skincare staple that rivals moisturisers costing twice the price. €22.60.
