Perhaps, the array of chunky, boisterous loafers that have become the norm (and the perfect foil for jeans and a good knit) have encouraged an upping of the game in the flats category. Either way, we’re happy about it. Newcomers to note include a novel flat clog at Massimo Dutti that looks more mid-range than high street, meanwhile if you’re looking to invest, luxury brands like Khaite are going down the diamanté route – best worn with straight-leg jeans in a clean mid-blue wash and a simple white T-shirt.
