Friends, collectors, and collaborators gathered at DesignYard, Dublin’s leading contemporary jewellery gallery where a new suite of collections from Studio Lafford are on display. The evening marked the launch of Understated Elegance, the latest fine jewellery collection by Sam Lafford of Studio Lafford.
The collection Understated Elegance features pieces that speak to the wearer’s inner life rather than aesthetics for the sake of being noticed. Sam Lafford has long held the belief that jewellery should carry something of the values and beliefs we reach for when we need to remember who we are, and these collections are the fullest expression of that conviction to date.
Guests moved between DesignYard’s gallery space and the neighbouring Gormley’s Art Gallery, where fine jewellery found fitting company among works by John Redmond, Patrick O’Reilly, and Xander. Guests in attendance included Cathy O’Connor, Julie Dupouy, Stephanie Hess, Lawson Mpame, Linda Vittone and Louise Stokes.
It is evident from the collections that Sam Lafford is building an Irish Heritage brand, with the patience and intention of a collector’s eye – pieces for life, not just the latest trend.
