The buzzed about TV show Daisy Jones & The Six airs this week. Here’s where to watch it in Ireland …
Dust off your fringed cape, slick on some glitter eyeshadow and make sure you’ve got just the right amount of bed hair – 1970s bohemia is back thanks to the buzzed-about TV show Daisy Jones & The Six which airs this March. That the titular character Daisy Jones is played by rock and roll royalty Riley Keough (none other than daughter of Lisa Marie Presley and granddaughter of Elvis) is an art-imitating-life moment we love, and the fact that we binge-read the book, the New York Times best-seller of the same name authored by Taylor Jenkins Reid, means we’re more than a little curious to see the story brought to life on screen.
Set in the 1970s, the series follows the story of band member Daisy Jones, played by Riley Keough, whose tempestuous and passion-fuelled – yet ultimately, complicated – relationship with frontman Billy Dunne, played by Sam Clafin, sees their group Daisy Jones & The Six scale the heights of rock stardom, shooting from obscurity to unbelievable fame, only to break up at the height of its popularity. Decades later the band spills all on what really happened behind the scenes of the world’s most famous rock band that led to its cataclysmic downfall. The show also stars It girl and Burberry model Suki Waterhouse as Karen Sirko, Camila Morrone as Camila Dunne, Will Harrison as Graham Dunne and there’s a special guest appearance by Timothy Olyphant as Rod Reyes.

The trailer below gives a taste of the drama to come, as well as the original music – there are 24 original songs written exclusively for the series, which have been recorded by the cast. The original music will be released by Atlantic Records in conjunction with the series.

The TV show is based on the New York Times best-selling novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The novel shot to the top of reading lists worldwide and was also a Reese’s Book Club pick, and went on to be developed by Hello Sunshine, the production company founded by Reese Witherspoon, in conjunction with Amazon Studios.

Irish viewers can watch Daisy Jones & The Six from March 3, with new episodes released every Friday through to March 24, exclusively on Prime Video.
