As we sadly say goodbye to an old favourite, we welcome the new coffee kid on the block and the Japanese-inspired café transforming tea time …

Hello: Éist Espresso Bar, Glenageary DART Station, Dublin
An entrepreneurial couple has opened an espresso bar in the DART station for all those commuters and tourists passing through, looking for a morning coffee or an afternoon treat. Éist serves specialty coffee, baked goods (including must-have banana bread) and famous Scéal pastries on weekends. There’s a seating area outside too, so you can catch some rays or get some much-needed fresh air before hopping on the train. We wish them well! Image; Aidan Clancy.

Kon’nichiwa: OMMA, Planet Beauty Brown Thomas, Dublin
This new pop-up offers a unique line-up of matcha-based drinks with authentic Japanese flavours like hojicha latte and sobacha. Treats including fruit sando, mochi, yuzu buns and matcha genmai chocolates complete the sensory experience. With the motto ‘Me time – tea time,’ founder Nastya encourages visitors to slow down, savour the moment and embrace tea as a ritual to be shared. See her expeditions to Japan to hand-select every tea on a family-run farm. @your.omma

Goodbye: Inhale Coffee Bar, Shankhill, Dublin
Locals and other Inhale fans from far and wide will be sad to hear the news that the beloved coffee bar in a converted horsebox will close at the end of the month. Owners Lyndsey and Dave announced the closure online with an emotional post, letting fans know that they hope this will not be the end of Inhale as they’re looking for a new location. @inhalecoffeebar
