Glossip: The Launch of Colourama at Kildare Village

Colourama – one of Ireland’s most vibrant street festivals celebrating art, music and wellness – is underway at Kildare Village. Here’s all you need to know …

Colourama takes place throughout July and August in Kildare Village with an interesting line-up of musical performances and wellness workshops. To animate the event and the Village, international artist Maser has created a series of vibrant art installations.

Maser was one of the guests at the launch of Colourama held recently. Others included Terrie McEvoy, Glenda Gilson, model Sophie Anderton and stylists Sinead Keenan and Aideen Feely. They all enjoyed a lovely lunch hosted by Val Forde, Communications and PR Director at Kildare Village.

Val explained the line-up of events to her guests: each week there are wonderful wellness events – from fitness influencer, Niamh Cullen’s Power Class designed to make participants sweat and smile, to yoga classes and cacao ceremonies with renowned Dublin yoga and Pilates studio Reformation. These wellness weekends will take place on the grounds of Grey Abbey in Kildare Village (tickets cost from €20 redeemable against a Kildare Village gift card).

There are also lots of musical acts performing throughout the summer; guests were introduced to Dublin pop starlet, Aimée Fitzpatrick, who previewed her new single. Joining Aimée in the line-up is DJ Tara Kumar, who will bring festival beats to Kildare Village on Thursday, August 3, from 6pm.

And to help those who would like to add more colour to their wardrobes, guests can enjoy a “Perfect Palette” service in the posh Personal Shopping Suites. This includes expert colour analysis during a 40-minute appointment, including an individual seasonal colour swatch.

Visitors can also look forward to new summer opening hours (from 9am to 8pm) and four new Irish-owned boutiques – Sculpted by Aimee, jewellery designer Oscar Graves and designer Sinead Keary, who will open a pop up later this month, along with florist One More Thing.
